5 ways to make sure you CAN keep your TAN!
Hello gorgeous girls!
I hope you’re all soaking up the much appreciated sun as we sadly draw closer and closer to the end of the summer season.
Although it’s difficult for us to accept the fact that time is drawing us closer to the autumn weather conditions, I have fixed together a plan for us women to combat the annoying inevitabilities that come with the changing weather. This being our ability to keep our summer tan as alive and vibrant for as long as possible!!
Yes ladies, I hear yah! You were lucky, yes, to experience the sun on holiday at the beginning of the season before most of us had a chance to go away, however, your bronze coat is now starting to fade as the sunny months move away from us. How on earth are you going to keep that tan fresh and topped up without breaking the bank and going away again?!!? Well have no fear!
My angels and I are here to give you each 5 individual top tips to help keep you bronzed and glowing for as long as poss….
Ellie's Tip. I cannot stress the importance of MOISTURISE MOISTURISE MOISTURISE. The best way to keep onto your sexy summer skin is to treat your body to a body butter and lotion-up every day. The Body Shop Coconut Shimmer Body Butter, £13 mixes moisture with a shimmer to make your skin glow as well as remind your senses of the hot beaches and sun cream with it's coconut scent!
Hannah's tip. "Skin superfoods" such as carrots, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and cantaloupe hold a very important 'carotene'. Eating multiple servings of these will warm up your natural skin tone and accentuate your tan to compensate for it's fade. It has been said that dark, leafy greens such as spinach and kale also contain large quantities of beta-carotene and largely affect skin pigmentation. Ultimately, consuming regular quantities of these vegetables will also enhance a natural tan. Why not treat your appearance as well as the health of your body!
Miranda's Tip. It's never too late to hydrate. As water helps to extend the life of your skin cells its best to drink as much as possible. If you're bored of constantly drinking water remember that melons, cucumbers and celery also have a high-water content and make for the perfect skin-friendly snack this summer.
Louise's Tip. Don’t forget to consider your hair removal methods. It's best avoid waxing as it can remove the top layer of skin cells. Electric razors may be more effective than standard razors, as this will also help to protect your tan!
Mandy's Tip. Remember to wear white. Finally, it's a tried-and-tested trick for giving the illusion of darker skin: simply wear a white or lighter shade next to your face. A crisp white shirt, bronzer and pink gloss on the lip is one of the best ways to give the allusion of beautiful sun - kissed skin! My favourite white pieces being our NEW Batwing Drape Sleeve Top in White, the Colour Trim Detail Dress in White and our White Corsica Jewel Wedged Sandal!!
As funny as they may seem they have in fact been tried and tested by the angels in Mandy’s Heaven HQ as we love to make sure that we’re looking after you beauties that take the time to read this blog.
